Requirements:
1. Be a full-time student (9 credit hours) at a College or University (public or private)
2. All boxers must be registered members of USA Boxing and USIBA or NCBA to register and compete.
3. In order to register, your USA Boxing webpoint account must have a face photo, confirmed date of birth by uploading birth certificate or passport (not driver’s license, current school transcripts showing no restrictions to sports that is valid through March 25, 2023.
4. All boxers must have a valid 2023 USA Boxing Passbook.
Registration opens January 15, 2023 (All boxers and coaches must register and pay).
January 15-February 1 (Early Bird) -$30
February 2-February 15 (Regular Registration) -$40
February 16-March 3 (Late Registration) -$50
Last day to register, change weight or division is March 3, 2923. You must email collegeboxing.usiba@gmail.com to notify the tournament directors of the requested change.
Only clubs that are registered USIBA clubs are eligible for team competitions and trophies.
For every 5 paid registrations = 1 free wristband.
Divisions for both Male and Female:
Beginner: 0-2 bouts, beginner, can only compete in beginner class 1 time.
Novice: 0-9 bouts.
Open: 5+
Weight classes:
Female: 106, 112, 119, 125, 132, 141, 152, 165, 178, 178+
Male: 113, 119, 125, 132, 140, 147, 154, 160, 168, 175, 188, 201, 225, 225+
USA Boxing certified 12oz gloves will be used for everyone and will be provided.
All other accessories (headgear, protector, uniform, hand wraps, etc.) must meet USA Boxing rules/regulations, and are boxer’s responsibility.
All boxers and coaches are expected to know and abide by USA Boxing’s “Code of Conduct”.

What do I do if I do not have a USA Boxing Athlete Passbook?
During the registration process you may request a passbook by checking that you do not have one and by entering the address you would like for it to be sent to. For replacement passbooks there is a $15 fee. Passbooks will not be mailed after March 3, 2023 however you can pick it up at the tournament as long as you have coordinated with USIBA registration staff at collegeboxing.usiba@gmail.com. Passbooks will not be made at the tournament and if you are registered with NCBA please contact the NCBA registration chair to request a passbook. We can not issue passbooks to non USIBA members.
Can I participate if I am not a US citizen??
Yes, for USIBA tournaments citizenship is not required.
How do I know if I have an opponent in my skill and weight division?
You can check the tournament brackets by selecting the orange button above. They are updated frequenty so it may appear that you do not have an opponent but then a few hours later you will so check them regularly.
Do I have to weigh-in every day even though I am not fighting that day?
All athletes must weigh-in on the first day of the tournament. After the first day you are only required to weigh-in on the days you are scheduled to box.
Can I participate without a coach?
Yes, if you are unable to secure a coach to attend the tournament with you please let us know and we can arrange for a coach from a different college to work your corner. Email collegboxing.usiba@gmail.com in order to make arrangements.
Can I register for the tournament if I go to a community college?
Yes, USIBA has proudly open our doors to athletes who are currently a full-time (9 credit hours) student in a college, university, and community and junior colleges.
Will the tournament be Live Streamed?
Yes, the tournament will be live streamed. Live streaming will be published at https://www.vmi.edu/usiba2023/
